Recently, 2 of our rec program coaches & competitive program athletes, Chloe M. and Rowan, spent the day volunteering at the Niitsitapi Learning Centre, Calgary AB, with over 170 indigenous children, teaching skipping for Jump Rope For Heart. They did skipping and SkipTime proud, as fantastic representatives and role models for our sport. Their outreach is not just contained to Calgary- they have gone global! Rowan & Chloe are World Jump Rope Ambassadors, and;
Rowan, in November, joined a group of American World Jump Rope Ambassadors in Medellin, Colombia spreading the love and passion for the sport to children all over the South American city. Rowan learned invaluable coaching and performance skills from these world class athletes (as well as some Spanish!) which strengthens his abilities as a Rec Coach for SkipTime and as one of our workshop coaches at Alberta competitions.
Chloe, this winter, has volunteered countless hours to share skipping, digitally, with the world: working on choreography for public demonstrations, videograpghy, SkipTime Instagram, & she recently submitted her jump rope skills video, winning a worldwide contest! - Cirque du Soleil -Cirque Your Way Contest.
Way to go for spreading the fun of jump rope to Calgary & the World!
Thank you Rowan & Chloe for sharing your day with Niitsitapi Learning Centre in Calgary, and giving so much of your time and energy to share jump rope in Alberta & beyond!
