2011/2012 Competitive Team InformationOur competitive program is a great opportunity to advance technical skills, fitness, performance and personal accomplishment. It is also a great way to meet friends, work together in a team environment and to have fun! Our competitive group trains to compete at provincial level events throughout Alberta. Commitment and dedication to attending class, practicing at home, and attending competitions is required. Some parent volunteer work is also required.
Our competitive program runs from September - April.
Gymnastics - It is highly recommended that the athletes in the competitive program take gymnastics in order to master the basic gymnastics skills used in jump rope. Skills like cartwheels, round-offs, donkey kicks etc. are difficult to master without proper instruction. The Sunday morning class at Altadore Gymnastics has been specifically designed for jump rope gymnastics skills. We will also reinforce the weekly skills in our jump rope sessions. Some daily at home practice may be recommended. To regsiter for the gymnastics class, please call Altadore Gymnastics at (403) 720-2711 and register with Jessica or Krystal. The cost is $94, which includes the $22 AGF fee. Competitive Rope Skipping in CanadaThe Canadian Rope Skipping Federation (CRSF) governs the sport of competitive jump rope in Canada.
